Wimborne Minster’s Minster Makes Music appeal is set for a significant boost thanks to a high profile choral concert which takes place on June 20.
A Caritas Consort performance has been organised by the choir’s director Lindsay Gray, who is also Emeritus Director at The Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and renowned for his consultancy work in education and mediation, choral music and charity development.
Lindsay will be making his first appearance in Dorset with the choir, bringing 15 singers from Caritas, a Cardiff-based chamber choir which is passionate about raising money for charities through singing, performing to the highest level.
Around 40 concerts have been staged to date which have raised almost £50,000 for different charities.
The choir, which performs music from all periods, and will present a programme featuring 16th century music through to the present day.
Lindsay said: “We shall feature something for everyone, with sacred choral music which comprises a typical Caritas performance. The proceeds are generated via the ticket price and additional funds are raised via refreshments and a raffle.
Tickets are available in advance and will also be available on the door. During the interval refreshments will be served to further generate more funds for the Minster Makes Music Appeal.
The event will start at 6pm Saturday 20th June 2020. The tickets are now on sale at £12 each and are available from the Parish Office or via the website link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-caritas-consort-at-wimborne-minster-tickets-95782942359
We’re doing our utmost to encourage everyone to get behind the project in some way. Every penny we raise counts, as we need to reach our £1,000,000 target to see music continue at the Minster.
